This change has worked wonders for my ball striking ability. To avoid fat shots 99% of the time, simply keep most of your weight on your left foot at address and throughout the entire swing, while maintaining good posture and other swinf fundamentals. Just use your right foot (actually raised a bit) as a guide. Finish strong on the left side. The secret to this is that it will prevent dipping into the ball on your right side. And you will lose no power, in fact I have gained distance by doing this.Try it!

Make sure shoulders and hips are alligned parallel to target line. If your hips are aligned right, but your shoulders are closed, you will hit behind the ball.

Get closer to the ball and maintain good posture. this will stop bring the club to inside which is ultimately the reason for fat shots.

When you hit it fat, you are most likely bending your upper body too much over the ball, try to have a balanced posture. Bend your body slightly and make sure your knees are properly flexed.

If you are hitting your shots fat, you are hitting behind the ball. Try to "think" in front of the ball. Beyond that, fat shots are hit when there is too much weight on the back foot. Make sure to transfer 90% of your weight to the front foot before impact.
