This is an area that deserves more discussion: physical fitness! Good golfers are often in excellent physical conditions. Turn on your TV and take another look at Tiger...you will see what I mean. Ernie Els wrote a book years ago, called Guide to Golf Fitness. Excellent book! It would help you to build a physical workout program of your own.

I would recommend any books written by David Leadbetter. This guy is a golf god. He can turn just about any player into a true champion. Lee Westwood was almost completely finished...but then he turned to David ...recently, he won again on the European tour for the first time in a very long time...Of course, no one will ever forget Ernie, Nick Price, Nick Faldo, Charles Howell, Aaron Bradley, Ty Tryon. Yes, Butch Harmon is good...but much of his reputation was built on Tiger, who would be great with or without a coach. David on the hand turned so-so players into great ones! That is the difference!.

For you highly analytical type, buy the book, or VHS tape or DVD, The 8-Step Swing by Jim McLean. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Highly recommend Golf Is Not A Game of Perfect written by Bob Rotella. It teaches one how to trust himself. An excellent book for improving the game of golf and many other things in life.

This may sound silly. But my mom bought me a copy of The Complete Idiot's Guide To Golf (by Michelle McGann). I think it is a goo book. Arthur, Boston

The video tape, Faults & Fixes with Nick Price by David Leadbetter is wonderful! It covers A-Z of a golf swing! I am a big fan of both David and Nick! Paul, Washington, DC

How to Build A Classic Golf Swing by Ernie Els was helpful. I only wonder why Ernie has not done a video tape. That would be even more helpful. Brett, Toronto

This is an easy pick. It is Tiger's How I Play Golf. This is not just a pretty coffee table book. It has real tips. For example, Tiger suggests using putting grip for chipping. It is a great advice. I am a big Mike Weir fan. But I don't know whether he has written any book. Lee, Stamford, CT

Look, you can analyze a golf swing in whatever way you want to. But to me, a golf swing is all about physics (yes, angles and force). Dr, Ralph Mann's Swing Like a Pro is the only book that analyzes the golf swings in a fairly scientific way. Excellent book! |
